The new accommodation space in Scotland is a profound tribute to the intense love that the great designer Coco Chanel once had for the romantic Highlands.
When mentioning Coco Chanel, people always think of her endless passion for the world of high fashion (couture). However, she also has a deep respect for the Scottish Highlands; Some of her classic creations were even inspired by the majestic, pristine natural scenery and typical fabrics of this land.

Chanel’s association with Scotland dates back to the 1920s, when she first visited the country while dating Hugh Grosvenor, 2nd Duke of Westminster. During the next 10 years of visiting the country, the legendary fashion designer became completely fascinated by the culture of the Highlands – and it was this time that turned her into a passionate fly-fisher.
The Fife Arms’ new room, priced from $1,355, is inspired by Chanel’s life in Scotland and her inner world. The hotel collaborated with interior design studio Russell Sage Studio to transform the old Family Room into a Chanel-inspired accommodation space.
Step inside and you’ll be greeted by rich, warm yellow and blue tones, juxtaposed with custom green and burgundy tweeds from Linton Mill. Chanel happened to know this textile factory in 1928, and to this day, the fashion house named after her continues to choose this as a supplier of high-quality fabrics.

The headboard and furniture in the room are decorated with lacquer motifs in the Scottish Chinoiserie style, while the rose wallpaper accurately reflects the style that Chanel used to decorate Rosehall House – the Scottish mansion where she lived with the Duke.
The designer’s iconic apartment at 31 Cambon Street (Paris) is also the inspiration for many interior details, such as the wheat sheaf-shaped chandelier and the Art Deco mirror placed solemnly on the dressing table. Elsewhere in the room, guests will find a walk-in wardrobe, a freestanding copper bathtub delicately placed in a vaulted alcove, and a separate bar area.
With all those delicate and nostalgic touches, we believe that the late princess of the fashion industry herself would nod in approval for this beautiful space.
