CHUYÊN ĐỀ "12 CHIẾC ĐỒNG HỒ THIÊN VĂN THỜI TRUNG CỔ" (Bài 3)
Mời quý vị cùng Navigator chiêm ngưỡng những họa tiết mang tính ngụ ngôn & đầy tráng lệ của chiếc đồng hồ Thiên văn thời Trung Cổ – The Gros Horloge, thường xuất hiện trong các bức tranh của các danh họa bậc thầy Claide Monet, J. M. W. Turner hay nhà nghệ thuật ấn tượng người Pháp Léon-Jules Lemaitre.
Those who are passionate about France must have many times marveled at the ancient beauty of this hexagonal country. n
To fully satisfy that beauty, follow me to Rouen – the oldest city in France, with Lyons-la-Forét (one of the most beautiful villages in Normandy), where the breath of time seems to stop completely, because we seem to be standing in the past.nRouen is the oldest city in France, with beautiful scenery like in the movies Beauty & the Beast, những con đường yên tĩnh nép mình trong khu phố cổ, những ngôi nhà gỗ nhiều màu sắc, Rouen níu chân lữ khách với ánh nhìn đầy khiêu gợi & đa tình..
nRouen is a city in the Seine, Maritime province and the capital of the Normandy region (northern France), considered a city of art and history with a rich architectural and religious heritage. Famous for its ancient architecture and long-standing culture, Rouen is also known as the “City of a Hundred Steeples”.
Only more than 1 and a half hours away from magnificent Paris by train, but this is still a deserted, peaceful city in the vastness of France. Being an important land in the Middle Ages, Rouen possesses buildings bearing the mark of Gotique style, notably the Notre-Dame Cathedral built in the 12th century with unique, overwhelming architecture, especially the impressive facade of the church. The main door of Notre-Dame has appeared in many works by famous artist Claude Monet.
nGros Horloge is located in the middle of Rue de Gros Horloge so you can easily get here by public transport. The Palais de Justice is the nearest tram stop, the central station in Rouen is just a 15-minute walk from this landmark, taking less than 10 minutes from the city’s other main attractions, such as the Musée de Beaux-Arts (Museum of Fine Arts) to visit the wonderful clock.
nA wonder of Rouen, the ancient Gros Horloge clock adorns the archway located on the picturesque Rue de Gros Horloge. Let’s admire the luxurious astronomical design and gilded art of the watch, and learn about the following interesting details.
n– This centuries-old Gros Horloge has two identical faces on either side of the elegant archway on the street.
n– Việc chế tác đồng hồ được thiết kế & hoàn thành bởi 2 nghệ nhân tiên phong của ngành đồng hồ thời Phục Hưng tại Pháp vào năm 1389 là Jourdain del Leche và Jean de Felain.
n– Early clocks were made without dials, with an hour hand representing twenty-four hours.
n– The movement is cast in fired iron, and is approximately twice the size of the Wells Cathedral clock, perhaps the largest such mechanism still in existence today.
n– The bold Renaissance dial with a diameter of 2.5 meters reveals a golden sun with 24 rays of light on a thousand-star blue sky. The phases of the moon are displayed in an expressive Oculus* motif with an orb in a small circular hole above the watch dial, completing a full rotation in 29 days.
– You can also admire the cheerful scenes of native fables symbolizing the days of the week through an interesting opening below the dial.
nSurely you will want to save this most beautiful moment like me, so you should step back a little, to be able to take a panoramic shot of the clock dome along with the surrounding ancient buildings and towers. Below the dome gate are also dotted with many elaborate motifs depicting animals and reliefs carved with mythological characters.
Take a stroll along either direction of Rue de Gros Horloge, let yourself get lost in the middle of Rouen, like once immersing yourself in the Middle Ages in Normandy, my friends!
