Mandarin Oriental – New meeting point for luxury lifestyle in Mallorca

Mandarin Oriental has just opened its first property on the Balearic Islands (and the third in Spain), marking the brand’s only hotel launch in 2026. Located along the Costa d’en Blanes peninsula, the hotel enjoys a unique position on the cliffs of the bay, opening up panoramic views of the Mediterranean and clear blue waters. Guests staying here will have the privilege of direct access to the sea thanks to a private path leading to two natural coves and soft white sand beaches. In particular, the famous port of Puerto Portals is also located nearby, a perfect plus if you plan to anchor a super yacht here.

The hotel immerses visitors in the nature of Mallorca island thanks to its garden campus of more than 2.8 hectares (7 acres) stretching over the cliffs. That spirit continues to be breathed into Mandarin Oriental’s 131 guest rooms, including 44 suites and 9 bungalows, each space is optimally designed for a lifestyle that blends indoor and outdoor.

Madrid-based architecture firm BG Arquitectura and famous interior designer Laura Gonzales have joined hands to bring life to accommodation spaces. All rooms are filled with the warm tones of sea sand, dotted with decorative details inspired by the peaceful, relaxing space of Mallorca, a charm that has fascinated generations of artists for decades.

Not stopping there, this new hotel also aims to become a culinary center in Mallorca with a system of 6 luxurious restaurants, each inspired by the island’s unique features:

  • Matsuhisa: Coastal culinary rendezvous serving Japanese dishes, sushi (with a dedicated sushi bar) and sophisticated craft cocktails.

  • Leña: High-end steak restaurant led by super chef Dani García, specializing in serving unique dishes prepared directly over open fire.

  • Jacinta: Trendy taqueria elevates the flavors of Mexican cuisine.

  • Leppoc: The intersection between Spanish culinary art and Levant flavors, using fresh agricultural products harvested right in the Balearic Islands.

  • Sobretaula: The beachfront dining space focuses on authentic Spanish tapas dishes, which will turn into a bustling nightspot with the presence of DJs.

  • Thalos: Poolside restaurant with an extensive menu inspired by Greek cuisine.

Elsewhere on site, there is a luxury spa nestled right next to the beach, offering wellness treatments inspired by traditional local rituals. The hotel is also equipped with an indoor swimming pool, two outdoor swimming pools facing the ocean, steam rooms, cold plunge pools and many other classy amenities.

Hotel Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca is now officially open to welcome guests. Room rates here range from about 1,500 USD (1,325 euros) per night for standard rooms, and from about 3,100 USD (2,668 euros) per night for suites.
