After nearly two decades since its launch in this country, the brand is preparing to welcome four new projects in potential destinations, contributing to realizing the goal of making Vietnam a leading tourist destination.
Ông Vivek Bhalla, Giám đốc Điều hành IHG Hotels & Resorts khu vực Đông Nam Á & Hàn Quốc, chia sẻ: “Vietnam is currently one of the most vibrant hotel markets in Asia. A solid tourism foundation, the increasing spending ability of domestic people, and the growing attraction for international tourists are opening up favorable opportunities for long-term growth.”
“Vietnam has emerged as one of the markets with the most impressive business indexes in IHG’s Asia-Pacific region, with RevPAR (revenue per available room) growth recorded at +20%1 in Q2 2026. In particular, the luxury segment nationwide had a RevPAR increase of 21.1%2, exceeding the industry average of 73 USD/room, reflecting the growing demand of travelers for high-end experiences.”

Domestic tourism also reached 81 million in the first 6 months of the year, showing the increasing spending power and travel demand of Vietnamese consumers.
Mr. Vivek further shared: “Coastal destinations and resorts such as Da Nang, Nha Trang and Phu Quoc continue to be the most favorite choices of Vietnamese tourists, in which family guests are the main source of guests for many InterContinental resorts across the country.”
To meet the needs of luxury travelers, the InterContinental brand has just completed a comprehensive global innovation program, harmoniously combining a long-standing heritage with contemporary design, wellness, culinary innovation and experiences tied to the destination’s identity.
Mr. Vivek added: “Luxury today is defined by authentic experiences, cultural immersion and meaningful connections. InterContinental’s transformation reflects this trend. Whether through services focused on mental and physical health, destination-inspired events, or the expertise of our team of Cultural Insiders, we are creating richer and more personalized experiences that help guests connect with the world. surrounding world”.

In addition, the group continues to seek development opportunities in gateway centers and key resorts such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Nha Trang and Ho Tram.

Mr. Vivek share more:
What strategy does InterContinental’s expansion into secondary destinations reflect, and what is the biggest difference when developing a luxury brand here?
This strategy aims to meet tourists’ need to explore new experiences. Although the initial infrastructure takes time to complete, these destinations have the outstanding advantage of creating deep cultural and emotional connections with local communities.
If you were to choose the key thing for Vietnamese tourism to break through and reach the world, what factor would you choose?
Vietnam’s core products (natural, cultural, human) are very strong. The key factor to do immediately is to step up marketing to tell the brand story to the world and optimize the convenience of tourists’ journeys (infrastructure, visa, entry).
How do you evaluate the potential and development plan of IHG’s Branded Residences segment in Vietnam?
Vietnam is the world’s fourth largest Branded Residences market. IHG is actively promoting this segment in Phu Quoc, Ha Long and soon Sa Pa to meet the needs of bringing high-end resort experiences into customers’ living spaces.
