With a design similar to small luxury superyachts, Transcend Cruises’ Connect model promises to eliminate prejudices about traditional river cruise ships.
Famous Swedish design unit Tillberg Design of Sweden (TDoS) has just launched a completely new 443-foot (about 135-meter) long river yacht model. The work is directly inspired by the elegant, trendy shape of luxury superyachts, no longer the familiar rough design of river cruise ships.
Conventional river cruise ships always have a low, flat and quite angular shape to easily pass under bridges as well as move through narrow channels. However, Connect – the representative that TDoS claims is the pioneering design in the segment – brings a completely different appearance. Instead of the usual square bow, Connect Possesses a sharp reverse bow – a characteristic mark of many modern superyacht models. The surface of the ship’s hull shows soft curves instead of rough edges, creating a more modern and elegant appearance.
The break from standards continues to be clearly shown inside the interior compartment. The material palette used reflects the spirit of a superyacht or luxury hotel instead of a regular cruise ship, harmoniously combining natural wood, monolithic stone with rough surfaces, warm-colored metal and soft fabrics.
The art of decoration is not too fussy or stereotypical but is aimed at relaxation and sophistication. Large glass windows help the outside water space to blend into one with the atmosphere inside the ship.

Connect Targeting private charter cruises and high-class groups. The ship is equipped with 60 luxurious rooms distributed on two decks, with the ability to flexibly combine to create 30 larger suites. Up to 120 guests on board will be served by a staff of 54, providing the highest service-to-guest ratio in the river cruise industry today.

In addition, guests can also enjoy the spa area, fitness room, yoga space, sauna room, and the upper deck area with integrated outdoor grill restaurant and cinema under the stars.
Equipped with an engine system that meets environmentally friendly EU Stage V emission standards, Connect can reach a maximum speed of up to 14 knots. The ship also integrates an electric propeller system, allowing for completely emission-free travel over short distances.
Currently, Connect is in the final stages of interior completion at the Den Breejen shipyard in the Netherlands and is expected to officially launch this year.
