Milan Fashion Week opened not with moderation but with a whirlwind of materials and mischief and spontaneity from Glenn Martens. With the Fall/Winter 2026 collection, Diesel brings a look that is both familiar and completely unconventional.

The catwalk space also reflects that spirit. Models strode through a scene that resembled a “luxury collector’s” fever dream: giant martini glasses, retro lava lamps, toy giraffes and polar bears, and countless nostalgic Diesel memorabilia and props were displayed throughout the catwalk. It all exudes mischief, somewhat absurd, but completely intentional.

Martens has never been afraid to experiment, and this time, he pushed the material element to the center position. Lace is layered over denim, “disguised” as familiar five-pocket jeans; Fur is sliced and deconstructed into graphic, almost collage-style outerwear designs. However, despite the maximalist visual style and the stage full of dramatic arrangements, Diesel’s core DNA is still kept intact. Classic denim designs still confidently stride on the runway in their purest version. The Fall/Winter 2026 collection feels like Martens is fully enjoying the creative playground within the Diesel universe.

In the midst of a week that is famous for its meticulousness and sophistication in every detail, Diesel chose a different path: enchanting chaos.
