Complete reunion with the Mid-Autumn Festival collection from Sheraton Saigon and Novotel Hanoi Thai Ha

Mùa Trung thu 2026, Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel tiếp tục khẳng định vị thế dẫn đầu với bộ sưu tập bánh thủ công "Tinh Tú Kỳ Thiên", kỷ niệm hành trình hơn hai thập kỷ gìn giữ di sản. Song hành cùng dấu ấn đó, Novotel Hanoi Thai Ha giới thiệu bộ sưu tập "Nguyệt Sắc Hoa Niên" – sự hòa quyện tinh tế giữa di sản Thăng Long ngàn năm và nhịp thở đương đại, gửi gắm lời chúc an yên và viên mãn trong ngày hội đoàn viên.

Each Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel mooncake is hand-made in the Li Bai kitchen according to traditional Chinese methods, since 2003. The collection includes four gift box versions; Particularly, the VVIP Thien Bao version comes with a wooden cotton flower – a Vietnamese folk game.

Not just an annual moon cake collection, Stars and Stars marks the next chapter in a journey of more than two decades. Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel persistently preserves the art of making handmade moon cakes right at the hotel. From craftsmanship cultivated over time to designs with long-term companion value, this year’s collection opens a new perspective on Mid-Autumn gifts – where the value of the gift does not stop when the cake is enjoyed, but continues to be present as a souvenir of the reunion season.

Stars and Stars – when the moon seasons are told through a universe of art and emotions

Tinh Tu Ky Thien was formed from the idea that every Mid-Autumn Festival is like a glowing night sky, where the stars converge to create the complete beauty of the moment of reunion.

That is also the reason why designs do not end their role after the cake is enjoyed. Each gift box is crafted to continue to be present in the recipient’s life as a tea box, jewelry box, a place to store memorabilia or simply a valuable collectible item. That way, the gift continues to accompany the recipient, like stars that still quietly shine after the moon has passed.

  • The beginning is Tinh Thanh – The First Light of Season. Tinh Thanh is inspired by the sound bands spreading in the sky, clear, calm and pure as the name suggests. The box has a slender horizontal shape, like a meteor streaking across the night sky, covered in a cool emerald green color. The metallic wave pattern gently appears at each angle under the light, like the sound rhythms vibrating softly on the surface of the box. And when the moon season ends, Tinh Thanh remains, and can be reused to store greeting cards, handwritten letters, and small items of personal significance.

  • If Tinh Thanh is the beginning of the journey, then Tu Sac – Charming constellation evokes serene and graceful beauty, where color becomes the conveying language of the moon season. The box has a square, balanced cabinet shape, covered in luxurious jade green with sophisticated metallic lotus motifs. The leather handle on the lid feels soft and sturdy when held; Two double-opening front doors complete the elegance and convenience of the design. After the moon season, Tu Sac continues to accompany as a box to store jewelry, small cosmetics, personal accessories or everyday items.

  • Considered the outstanding masterpiece of the collection, Ky Ngoc – Gem Among the Milky Way, A rare gem is conveyed through materials, shapes and every finishing detail. With an elegant vertical cabinet shape covered in dark emerald green, Ky Ngoc evokes the image of a treasure kept in the middle of a star nursery. The surface is hand-embroidered with the motif of a lotus dress under the stars, creating distinct visual and tactile depth — so that each thread becomes a mark of sophistication, rarity and rich collectible value.

  • Closing the journey is Thien Bao – Full Moon. Inspired by the image of the full moon, a symbol of reunion and blessings, Thien Bao is the VVIP version, a treasure of the moonlit night sky. The box is round and plump like the moon, covered with dark green PU leather; Embossed patterns run seamlessly around the box body with a gold embossed logo, creating a neat whole, rich in collectible value. And when the lid of the box was lifted, Thien Bao revealed a two-story structure like a treasure compartment arranged under the moonlight: four moon cakes, a box of premium tea, and a wooden flower basket – a star touching the ground, rotating on its own axis like a star in the night sky, carrying the light of memories and the warmth of reunion.

Through Tinh Tu Ky Thien, Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel hopes that each masterpiece will not only be a gift of the reunion season, but also become an item that will be kept and accompany the recipient for a long time, so that the value of the gift continues to extend beyond the festive season.

More than two decades of preserving the art of making handmade moon cakes

If Stars and Stars is a story of design aesthetics, the foundation of the collection comes from a value that has been steadfastly pursued by Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel for more than twenty years: the art of making handmade moon cakes.

Since 2003, the hotel has maintained the production of moon cakes entirely in the Li Bai kitchen according to traditional Chinese methods, under the leadership of chef Diep Nhieu – more than 30 years of experience in the profession and 23 seasons of cakes with the hotel. At Li Bai, the entire manufacturing process is carried out according to closed standards and strict control – from selecting ingredients, processing filling, shaping to baking and finishing the product. Persistence with craftsmanship has created the distinct value of Sheraton Saigon moon cakes through generations of diners. It is not only technique, but also the inheritance of workmanship, meticulous spirit and the belief that values created over time always have the longest life.

Today, with more output 100,000 cakes per season, Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel is the only five-star hotel in the city. HCM holds such a large scale of production entirely in the hands of the chef – a mark that very few places can do, and has become the hotel’s identity for more than two decades. With the current growth momentum, the 2026 Mid-Autumn Festival is expected to mark a milestone of nearly 200,000 cakes crafted by the Li Bai team. It is not only operational capacity but also a commitment to preserving a craft that has become part of the identity of Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel and Li Bai restaurant.

Each Li Bai Mooncake is a part of the hotel’s culinary heritage. The golden crust of the cake is only about one millimeter and is completely hand-wrapped, using hand-cooked sugar water from sugar cane, no artificial colors and no preservatives. Each cake is baked twice at the appropriate temperature to achieve a light texture but still retains softness, moisture and characteristic aroma. No preservatives also mean a shelf life of only 30 days from the date of manufacture — a natural result of this manufacturing method, and also a guarantee of the freshness of an original handmade cake. Eight famous flavors of the reunion season

Every lunar season, Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel’s handmade moon cake collection always includes exactly eight flavors developed by chef Li Bai’s team – diverse and selective enough for each diner to find their own taste. The number eight also carries wishes of wealth according to Asian concepts and is associated with two addresses that have become the hotel’s identifying mark: 88 Dong Khoi and 80 Dong Du.

Two salty flavors play a fundamental role and do not change over many moons. Thap Cam Gathering ten selected ingredients, balanced between sweet, rich and fatty – a long-standing symbol of togetherness on the full-moon night feast. Understanding Vietnamese taste, chefs Li Bai moderate the classic recipe to preserve the traditional essence while still being light and easy to enjoy for all generations. Scallop XO is the hotel’s best-selling flavor every season, where dried scallops are mixed with XO sauce hand-cooked by chef Li Bai according to Cantonese specialties. Familiar in dipping, stir-frying and steaming dishes, XO sauce is added to mooncake fillings — a variation that can only be found at Sheraton Saigon.

Six sweet flavors open the journey from traditional to contemporary. White Lotus Seeds Holds the classic position of the moon season with elegant sweetness. Lotus Seeds and Pineapple Leaves is a duo of two scents, where the rich taste of lotus blends with the scent of cool pandan leaves. Black Sesame has the depth of roasted beans, is fatty and fragrant. Long Tinh Tea – Hangzhou’s famous tea, one of the top ten famous Chinese teas once offered to kings – leaves a cool, elegant aftertaste.

The remaining two flavors are contemporary touches. Red Cranberries has the sour and sweet taste of Western berries. Thanh Yen (Yuzu) is the most contemporary flavor of the collection. Peel essential oil creates a complex aroma of grapefruit, tangerine and florals, bringing a sour taste that balances sweetness and fat – a sophistication for diners familiar with modern culinary language.

No matter which flavor you choose, diners will recognize a common mark in each 220 gram cake: a thin crust embracing the soft and smooth filling, so that when enjoying, the crust and filling blend together and gradually melt on the palate. Culinary trends may change each year, but that originality is what Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel preserves through each season.

Sharing about this year’s collection, Mr Julian Wong, General Director of Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel, said: "Xuyên suốt hai mươi ba năm qua, điều chúng tôi luôn gìn giữ không chỉ là nghệ thuật chế tác bánh Trung Thu thủ công, mà còn là giá trị của việc trao tặng. Với Tinh Tú Kỳ Thiên, chúng tôi mong muốn mỗi hộp quà không chỉ mang đến hương vị của mùa đoàn viên mà còn trở thành một tác phẩm có thể được cất giữ, để mỗi lần nhìn lại, người nhận vẫn nhớ đến những cuộc gặp gỡ, những lời chúc và những khoảnh khắc ý nghĩa đã cùng nhau tạo nên mùa trăng ấy."

Continuing the journey of more than two decades of developing the art of handmade moon cakes, Stars and Stars is not only a collection for the 2026 moon season but also an affirmation of the philosophy that Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel always pursues: the most sustainable values are not created by trends, but by time, sophistication in crafting and the ability to touch human emotions.
