For Spring Summer 2020, BOSS continues to emphasize its commitment to the sustainable development of fashion through high-end tailoring products.
The brand, which is famous for its Traceable Wools product line (products made from sheep’s wool with clear origins), has now expanded this category to include designs for women. At the same time, the brand also launched a “vegetarian” suit – Vegan Suit – made from completely non-animal materials in its men’s collection.
As part of its commitment to finding more responsible ways of producing and finishing its garments, BOSS launches the BOSS Traceable Wool Collection. The designs are created with the assurance that the entire production process is meticulously monitored and monitored – from the origin of each yarn to the finished product. The result is a collection sewn with Merino wool under the safest and most sustainable production conditions.
All wool used in the collection is supplied from Merino sheep farms in New Zealand with the highest certification for animal safety, including a commitment to not apply the “mulesing” wool harvesting technique. “Mulesing” is a painful technique for removing wool from animals to ensure the integrity of the fur, but there are always new, more advanced methods to eliminate this painful process.
The wool yarn is then prepared, dyed and spun in Italy by the famous textile house REDA – a family company with over 30 years of experience providing the highest quality raw materials for HUGO BOSS products. Finally, all products in this collection are sewn at the brand’s production line located in Izmir, Türkiye.
This updated Traceable Woll design for women offers a spring-y color palette, combined with eye-catching reds and timeless navy blues. Perfectly tailored one-button jackets express BOSS’s signature aesthetic, and can be combined with cropped wide-leg pants or dynamic straight-leg pants of the same material. Additionally, the collection is completed with tailored jackets in plaid fabric, skirts, dresses and trousers that can all be easily paired together.
THE VEGAN SUITn
Made from “vegetarian” ingredients, completely free of animal origin, Vegan Suit is BOSS’s latest addition to its commitment to the sustainable development of fashion. With 03 color options including light beige, dark blue and black – this perfectly tailored suit is made in Germany with organic linen materials harvested completely naturally in Europe. Parts that usually use animal wool or horse hair are completely eliminated, replaced with materials derived from plants.
Highlights of the Spring Summer 2020 collection also include a jersey fabric suit with drawstring pants, an ultra-light slim-fit suit, rolled-up tapered pants and a stylized polo shirt design.
