Located on the shores of Lake Oconomowoc, this gorgeous 7-bedroom villa is a cozy multi-generational retreat for large families.
When mentioning lake houses in the Upper Midwest of the United States, people often immediately think of rustic wooden houses with pine paneling, stone fireplaces and docks stretching out onto the calm water. This villa located on the shore of Lake Oconomowoc in Wisconsin also inherits those familiar features, but is recreated on a much more grand and classy scale by cleverly combining traditional lake house materials with a sophisticated interior space, full of vitality thanks to vibrant colors and bold patterns.

Designed by the architectural firm Wade Weissmann Architecture and the interior by designer Emily Winters of Peabody’s studio, this large mansion was born to meet the desire of a family with six children, including the daughter-in-law and grandchildren, to be able to gather together under one roof.

Spread over an area of about 16,000 square feet (equivalent to 1,500 m²), the house has 7 bedrooms, 8 fully equipped bathrooms and 4 small bathrooms. Despite its majestic scale, this multi-generational resort does not feel strange or overwhelming thanks to the presence of 7 fireplaces, marble accents and softly decorated common living spaces that help create a cozy atmosphere like a classic lakeside wooden house. The main meeting spaces include a large living room connected to the dining room, which houses a long table crafted from trees liberated from the grounds during construction.

The kitchen is equally large, fully capable of serving meals for a large number of people. The large kitchen is centered on a wooden-topped kitchen island, while the adjacent breakfast room maintains a relaxed, intimate look thanks to white-painted bamboo chairs and wall stickers that stretch to the ceiling. The home offers countless flexible spaces for gatherings, whether for the entire family or small, private groups. In other areas, guests can find a formal billiards room, an entertaining games room, and quiet corners reserved for chatting or reading.

Private spaces still maintain a balance between comfort and the home’s personality. The main bedroom has a softly padded reading corner and two separate dressing rooms, one of which is equipped with luxurious blue lacquer cabinets.

Classic furniture blends all the modern features while still preserving the pure joys that make up the value of lakeside life: gathering, relaxing and creating priceless memories together.
