In recent years, Azimut has tended to make Grande the flagship of each collection rather than separating models with RPH (independent cockpit) into a Grande collection as before. The proof is that the Grande 25 METRI – the model replacing the Azimut 80 to become the flagship of the Flybridge Collection, the Grande 25 METRI Magellano – the largest boat model of the semi-displacement Magellano line is also about to launch. And finally, S10 – Grande model of S Collection
This way of renaming flagship models is quite good because it makes it easier for buyers to approach the Grande line. Previously, it was only for boats of 95 feet or more, but now they can buy an 83-foot boat and still be a Grande. However, on the other hand, it also reduces the value of the Grande Collection to previous buyers or models over 95 feet. Rambling a bit, back to the main topic – Grande S10. The S10 still carries the DNA of the S collection line with an extremely sporty shape, the keel is still planning design for a maximum speed of up to 35kn when combined with 2 MTU 2600Hp engines. And especially, the S10 uses the classic shaft-line mechanism and does not use IPS like other models in the S collection, so now customers will be confident about the S10 if they buy it to use in the Saigon River because the shaft line structure is extremely friendly to the unclean water environment.
Việc S10 sử dụng trục chân vịt có thể đến từ hai lý do : Một là IPS chỉ đạt công suất tối đa 1350hp/ động cơ và nếu muốn đạt 5200 hp tổng cộng như trên S10 thì cần đến 4 động cơ IPS lắp trên du thuyền thay vì 2 nếu xài đông cơ MTU. Hai là S10 hướng đến khách hàng châu Á, nơi có điều kiện nước không được sạch & trong như tại châu Âu nên động cơ shaftline vẫn là lựa chọn cực kì tối ưu để tiếp cận lớp khách hàng siêu giàu tại châu Á.
S10 không còn được thiết kế bởi Stephano Righini – người thiết kế 3 mẫu trước của S collection mà Azimut đã chọn một gương mặt mới – Alberto Mancini. Alberto Mancini là cái tên khá nổi tiếng trong giới thiết kế du thuyền, ông có công ty AM Yacht Design chuyên thiết kế các siêu du thuyền thể thao cho Mangusta , Dominator & Baglietto yacht. Còn nội thất của S10 vẫn được chắp bút bởi Francesco Guida – người thiết kế nội thất của S7, Guida còn được biết đến với toàn bộ phần nội thất của Arcadia Yacht.
The most notable features of this new Grande model include: The interior, according to the rendering, has a glass partition between the main saloon and the dining area. Ở cockpit có một mái che di dộng với cơ cấu khá hay, đó là hai trụ đỡ được xếp vào hai thành tàu, khi cần sử dụng thì hai trụ này sẽ bật lên để đỡ phần mái che được kéo ra từ bên dưới skydeck. Phần đuôi thuyền vẫn là một beach-club bật ra khi cần sử dụng, bên trong là garage chứa được 1 jet ski, 1 tender, 2 seabobs.
S10 has 4 cabins all located on the lower deck. Many people regret that with a size of nearly 30m, the master cabin cannot be located on the upper deck while the shorter Grande 27 METRI can be arranged. The answer comes from the hull design of these two models which are completely different, the 27 METRI applies wide-body while the S10 is still a sporty design. Or maybe when you go to S11 or S12 you will see a master cabin layout on the main deck.
