Alibaba said revenue from cloud computing services grew 34% year-on-year in the quarter ended September 30, while revenue from artificial intelligence (AI)-related products posted triple-digit growth for the ninth consecutive quarter.

This category includes many layers, from compute infrastructure and development platforms to hosted AI models.
Additionally, research firm Omdia estimates China’s AI cloud computing services market will reach 51.8 billion yuan (US$7.64 billion) in 2025, up from 20.8 billion yuan (US$3.07 billion) in 2024.
The Omdia ranking also shows that Alibaba Cloud accounts for 35.8% of China’s AI cloud computing service market share in the first half of 2025, far exceeding the total market share of the three closest competitors combined.
ByteDance’s Volcano Engine accounts for 14.8%, Huawei Cloud 13.1%, Tencent Cloud 7% and Baidu AI Cloud 6.1%.
