Lay the first brick in Vietnam with InterContinental Hanoi Westlake Since 2007, up to now IHG has quickly established a leading position in the luxury hotel market with a rapidly growing investment portfolio. To date, IHG operates 15 hotels and resorts under 5 Luxury and Lifestyle brands, including: Six Senses, Regent, InterContinental, Vignette Collection and Hotel Indigo.

Ông Tom Rowntree, Phó Chủ tịch mảng Thương hiệu cao cấp toàn cầu tại IHG Hotels & Resorts affirmed that IHG will continue to strengthen its leading position here, and commits to accompanying and strongly supporting the luxury tourism industry in Vietnam – one of the most dynamic economies in Southeast Asia.

Asia – Pacific is ready to accelerate to welcome the flow of international high-class tourists

The global luxury tourism segment continues to show outstanding growth, with forecasts showing an annual growth rate of nearly 8% and is estimated to reach 3.52 billion USD by 2035, according to Market Research Future. The shifting focus of the luxury tourism industry is increasingly accelerating to the East, making Asia-Pacific one of the fastest growing regions in the industry. The luxury tourism market in this area is forecast to achieve a compound annual growth rate of up to 9.9% from now to 2033. This rate far exceeds the global average, positioning this place as one of the most attractive growth areas in the world, according to Grand View Research. The driving force largely comes from within the region, with 91% of market growth forecast to come from Asia-Pacific visitors.

Mr. Rowntree emphasized that Asia-Pacific currently holds up to 30% of total global assets, according to Worldmetrics. In particular, in 2025, the number of high net worth people (HNWI) here will grow by more than 10%, making this region the market with the fastest wealth accumulation rate in the world.

“The generation of high-class travelers is shaping the luxury travel market more strongly than ever, placing top priority on experiences that are deeply personalized, have local cultural identity and are unique and cannot be copied,” Mr. Rowntree said. “Notably, the continued rise of multi-generational travel is having a huge impact on the luxury travel market, as travel decisions are shaped by collective consensus across different age groups. For example, 2025 will see seven generations of a family travel together for the first time in history, with the emergence of Generation Beta. This means families are increasingly demanding the same destinations and hotels. both brings cohesion and is highly customizable.”

He added: “IHG’s brand portfolio is intentionally established to create outstanding differentiation, meeting increasingly strict definitions of contemporary luxury, from hyper-personalized, unique, and most sophisticated experiences, to itineraries that focus on travel experiences that connect with local culture.”

Leading the high-end segment – A different experience with IHG

Ông Tom Rowntree nhấn mạnh cách các thương hiệu Luxury & Lifestyle của IHG tái định nghĩa trải nghiệm lưu trú thông qua tính độc bản, hành trình du lịch đậm chất văn hóa và các trải nghiệm siêu cá nhân hóa. Regent Taste Studio is an example of a unique culinary experience where artists come together to create multi-sensory journeys that harmonize elements of food, art, fashion and more. Meanwhile, campaign InterContinental Doors Unlocked offers guests unprecedented access to the world’s most prestigious cultural events, from an invitation to enjoy a rehearsal of the Australian Ballet at the Sydney Opera House, to the opportunity to attend a private dinner at the InterContinental Phuket Resort hosted by the curator of the Thailand Biennale.

IHG’s Six Senses brand has also just joined “Recipe of Change” program of UNEP and UN Tourism. By applying the sustainable philosophy and orientation of “Eat With Six Senses”, Six Senses not only spreads operational solutions and behavioral changes that have been accumulated over many years, but also promotes open dialogue with customers and industry colleagues to join hands in eliminating food waste.

It is IHG’s strong commitment to innovation, purposeful luxury and unique lodging experiences that are the solid foundation for IHG’s continued development in Vietnam, a market where the group sees outstanding long-term potential to create a new chapter in luxury tourism.

Overcoming macroeconomic challenges, Vietnam continues to affirm its position as one of the world’s leading destinations by welcoming 21.2 million international visitors by 2025 with more than 10.6 million visitors in just the first 5 months of 2026, according to the Vietnam National Tourism Administration. IHG is committed to creating the next generation of luxury hotels in Vietnam, continuing to solidify its position as one of the nation’s leading luxury hotel groups.
