Swiss watch brand H. Moser has just launched Endeavor Flyback Chronograph Dual Time Date – bringing together 3 complications including flyback chronograph sports stopwatch, second time zone and date display. This is a testament to the brand’s mastery of creating watches that are pure in appearance but also contain exciting mechanical complexity.
H. Moser achieved this streamlined display by focusing all the indicators on the center of the dial, which is finished in a gradient emerald green (turquoise fumé) attractive. The red hand is responsible for indicating the chronograph seconds, while the rhodium-coated hand shows the elapsed minutes on a white scale. Gradient dark gray central disc (Blackor fume) incorporates a brushed sunburst pattern as the second time zone display, with a white arrow leading the way. The wearer can also observe the date through a small window located at the 6 o’clock position.
In other areas of the dial, the hands are leaf-shaped and coated with Super-LumiNova along with a tachymeter scale (tachymeter) is located on the outer border.
Beneath that minimalist surface, the watch receives power from the hand-wound caliber HMC 730. To realize the HMC 730 movement, the duo omitted the automatic winding system and flywheel. This move helps create the necessary space to integrate a second time zone and date function. H. Moser still retains some of the features of the HMC 902 on the new movement.
Besides, the recoil mechanism (retrograde) of the movement allows the chronograph minute hand to jump instantly thanks to the accumulated energy released through the screw-shaped cam disc, enhancing time reading accuracy.
Despite its complex structure, the Endeavor Flyback Chronograph Dual Time Date offers extremely user-friendly features: the date can be flexibly adjusted both forward and backward without risk of damage to the mechanism – a rare detail for a time machine that integrates so many complex functions.
