The Ao Dai is a heritage living in the midst of the times
For more than a decade, the image of Vietnamese Ao Dai has always been vividly present in every delicate touch at Hôtel des Arts Saigon. Right from the hotel’s main gate, the unique curved dome architecture perfectly depicts the softness and flexibility of the fluttering Ao Dai. That flow of heritage continues to lead to works of art, through the lens of artists, the gentle and noble beauty of Vietnamese women in the traditional Ao Dai is recreated in many graceful artistic languages, skillfully telling the story of a cultural symbol that endures over time. In the staff’s signature Ao Dai outfit created exclusively by designer Thuy Nguyen, the delicate combination of daisies on soft fabric further depicts the elegant and graceful beauty of women. In Vietnamese culture, daisies are not only the flower of the festive season, but also a symbol of resilience and strong, proud inner strength.
Awaken heritage memories
On July 20, 2026, Hôtel des Arts Saigon respectfully organizes the launch event of the 2026 Mooncake Collection with the theme “Muse des Arts”. More than just a taste party, the event is a multi-sensory art space, where the heritage breath of the Vietnamese Ao Dai is fully and vividly awakened. Opening is a unique art performance recreating the proud historical formation of the traditional Ao Dai shape through the ages. Each movement of each primitive shape of the hem, over the years, becomes a beautiful heritage of the Vietnamese people, all blending with the deep sound of the monochord to create a complete emotional experience.

Honored to accompany Lotus Gallery, this launch event space becomes a convergence of heritage stories honoring the beauty of Vietnamese women spanning the North, Central, and South through the aesthetic lens of famous contemporary artists. Admire the works “Tuoi Thanh Xuan” (2016) and “In the Garden” (2018) by artist Do Ngoc Diep, where nostalgic deep colors recreate the rustic rhythm of life, but the beauty of the Ao Dai still exists in the peaceful memories of an old Hanoi. Admire the charm of Southern women with their traditional conical hats in the work “Thuon Tha” (2000s) by artist Luong Ngoc Dung. Exploring the depth of the ancient capital’s culture through two acrylic works by artist Phan Linh Bao Hanh, “Dan Co” (2014) opens up a proud intersection between the timbre of national musical instruments and the shape of the Ao Dai, while “Bo Cong Anh” (2011) borrows the image of flower petals in the wind to praise the strong inner strength and spirit of freedom but always associated with the original identity of Vietnamese women.
