Golfer Jessica Korda followed in the footsteps of her two younger siblings to join the Richard Mille family

Richard Mille announced that American professional golfer Jessica Korda has joined the family of top female athletes. Here, Jessica will also walk alongside Nelly and Sebastian, the two younger brothers who joined Richard Mille in 2019 and 2022.

30-year-old female athlete Jessica Korda has been “passionate” about golf since day one. “Having parents who are two tennis champions is part of what makes me competitive. I love all sports, especially gymnastics and figure skating. However, being 1m81 tall prevented me from pursuing those sports! And the choice of golf quickly “came to me.”

Jessica’s passion dictated her daily schedule early on as a teenager. Waking up at 6 a.m. to jog and swim, she will “have an hour of schoolwork at 8 a.m. and maybe during lunch” – all this so she can spend most of the day on the golf course.

Her first professional victory was at the Australian Open (Women's Australian Open) in 2012. In 2013, 2019 and 2021, Jessica officially represented the United States at the Solheim Cup.

However, in a successful career, her proudest moment to date was competing at the Tokyo Olympics where her sister and brother, Nelly and Sebastian, also competed. What made it an unforgettable event was that they all qualified together!

Jessica conceived of the uniqueness of golf as demonstrated by the atmosphere and Zen-like mental discipline it requires. “Walking out, feeling all those people, the pressure suddenly hits you. It’s all about memory – not just the swing, but the mind as well. The mind is a muscle and you can train your subconscious mind. You have to get rid of whatever is haunting your mind, relax, and just let your body do what you taught it to do during the time you were preparing yourself.”

Jessica also loves passing on her passion for golf to children. “There is something unique about golf. You can tee it up next to anyone, young or old. It’s a real balance. It’s also a great sport for women, as more and more of us are taking up it. When I was a little girl, I decided that we would go out and compete with the boys.”

Richard Mille is delighted that all links with the Korda family are now complete. “Pioneer is the word that comes to mind when trying to identify what unites both families,” Jessica said. “We are not guaranteed these lives in return for working very hard. Of course, I’m always competitive but what makes me most proud is watching my siblings. I calmly watch Nelly play golf, but when it comes to tennis, I’m really bad! On the golf course, Jessica wears the RM 07-01 in red Quartz TPT®, an in-house automatic movement that combines durability, lightness and comfort in every situation.
