The rise of street fashion in recent times cannot be denied. The handshakes between luxury fashion and street fashion are constantly being launched, creating interesting “big bangs”: products that both contain the value of hundreds of years of heritage, while also carrying the breath of a disruptive contemporary lifestyle. And with Louis Vuitton’s newly launched “LV2” collection, designer Virgil Abloh – Artistic Director of men’s fashion at Louis Vuitton – collaborated with Nigo – founder of one of the typical street fashion brands from Japan – A Bathing Ape.

The designs in the “LV2” collection use Louis Vuitton’s familiar code created by two outstanding minds in the street fashion industry, Virgil Abloh and Nigo. Together, the two have brought extremely unique designs of costumes, shoes, and accessories by blending their own marks with the more than 160-year legacy of Louis Vuitton.

Denim material appears a lot in the Louis Vuitton x Nigo collaboration collection

The mark of Louis Vuitton’s heritage is clearly present in the ready-to-wear designs, created by the influence of Nigo and bold accents of Virgil Abloh. The very familiar denim material has been cleverly modified, creating unique and impressive outfits at first sight.

Monogram motif and Louis Vuitton’s signature Damier checkered stripes cover the creations in this collection; cut, embroidered, or printed on the designs of shirts, jackets, pants, shoes… Louis Vuitton’s classic handbags are also not “absent” in the “LV2” collection such as Keepall bags, backpacks, crossbody bags – still keeping the familiar shape but wearing a new creative coat.

One of the highlights of this collection is the extremely eye-catching “LV²” logo, appearing on costume designs such as sweatshirts, shirts, jackets, and belt accessories, mules, glasses, key chains…

The image of the “LV Made” duck is considered the symbol of the Louis Vuitton collaboration collection x Nigo because it is “modified” from Nigo’s signature “Human Made” line. This extremely eye-catching symbol is shown on accessory designs such as coin purses, notebooks… that surely any collector must hunt for.
