Have you ever wondered what a supercar would look like when designed by an architect? Now, with current technological developments, people’s curiosity is finally satisfied.
Use Midjourney, an image creation tool powered by artificial intelligence, Moss and Fog has created a series of exciting new car designs, giving the public a glimpse of hypothetical creations as molded by renowned architects such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Santiago Calatrava or Kengo Kuma. This series of digital paintings takes viewers on a visual, magical journey through different eras and styles, paying tribute to the very best of architecture—from Antoni Gaudí to Frank Gehry, Renzo Piano and Eero Saarinen.
Moss and Fog founder Ben VanderVeen told Robb Report in an email: “As architecture and car lovers, we really wanted to see how AI would bring these two concepts together. We created queries to produce images of cars that most realistically represent the design styles of leading architects.”
“While there are still some unsatisfactory models, we appreciate how the cars appear to fit the era in which the architects operate. And while AI-generated painting is currently considered a passing trend or gimmick, we think it will continue to grow into a useful tool that designers of all types can use in the future.”

Among the renderings the AI system produces, you’ll especially notice a modernist hybrid car honoring Norman Foster—“the hero of high-tech style.” In addition, in the series of paintings there is another medium modeled after Santiago Calatrava’s neo-futuristic aesthetic style and placed in front of his signature sculptural work. In addition, there is also a work commemorating the late female architect Zaha Hadid, who actually designed a concept car using the rounded, generous lines that stand out in her usual style.
Of course, it’s hard to imagine these abstract cars ever making it into production, but they’re still incredibly fun to look at.
