“Darkness, Light & Love” by My Tam – Time Keeper

The love that the audience has for My Tam and the love that My Tam has for the audience is something akin to faith. Because in that love there is more sacredness and sincere gratitude for each other. Only then will My Tam and her audience have a strong and loyal bond for more than 20 years.

I have witnessed the enthusiasm of the audience many times at events/shows attended by My Tam and realized that people love the brown-haired Nightingale not only because of her talent. Until I watched the documentary produced by My Tam – Timekeeper (Tri Am the Movie), I deeply felt the true reason for the intense love between My Tam and her audience.

Within the limitations of language, I take the liberty of comparing that love in a few words “almost like faith”. Why is it only similar, because this faith is two-way, no one is higher than the other, it’s all about the sincere love that both sides have for each other. It is so sincere that the people involved will feel that love is sacred and worthy of every year of youth they have spent loving My Tam, just as My Tam has shed sweat, tears and even blood, physical and mental injuries to love her audience back.

When My Tam was the loneliest, most hurt, experiencing the darkness of depression, her heart only turned to the audience, to the stage, to the common sanctuary of music and love. There, both My Tam and her audience were able to laugh, cry, be comforted, and healed. The two words Tri Am that My Tam painstakingly performed in her once-in-a-lifetime show are truly very profound. In a relationship of more than 20 years, no one can “act”.

It must be real, so real it’s heart-wrenching like every labored breath every time you’re sick, suddenly breathing peacefully in the magical garden they’ve created within each other over the years – that is, seeing each other is happiness, seeing each other is bursting into sobs.

In the movie written by My Tam herself, she tells about her life’s feelings, every time she sings a song The Light that she composed rang out, my heart was choked, I felt sorry for the artist who, after all the glory, still had the lonely empty spaces, bitterness, mistakes, and hurts like so many other normal people, but she had to swallow those tears in her heart. At some point, in the darkness of ultimate confusion, it burst out into notes of destiny, notes about the love, anxiety, suffering and even liberation in My Tam’s life.

“In the middle of the dark night, I only hear the endless pain of crying in my heart… At those times, can anyone understand me anymore?”… My Tam shared that every time she was most desperate, this song seemed to give her strength. That strength is conveyed in the chorus:

“Let’s step out to the place where we feel free love. Even though this heart is broken, we are still happy and we still smile in His eyes. Put all this pain aside, just be happy, what are you waiting for? Happiness is waiting under thousands of songs and under the lights.”

When quoting the lyrics of Tam’s song, I capitalize the word “People”. Because, when I saw My Tam perform this song, walking from the dark room to the bright stage, I received an indescribable spiritual feeling from My Tam’s spiritual energy. She truly saw “salvation” and relief from the audience. The place where she meets the audience is the cathedral. “Even though this heart is broken, I’m still happy and I still smile in His eyes”, the people here are not only the tens of thousands of spectators who love her, screaming her name below the stands, that is probably also the implication of God’s unconditional love.

In the movie, every time she faces difficulties, every time she enters a big battle, My Tam thanks her colleagues and God. I suddenly understood the “code” in My Tam’s aura and shed tears.

I believe, the sacredness in relationships between people will always create miracles. Or rather, deep love is the only miracle we can feel and create to change any adversity for the better.

When too much love is present in our lives, we are suddenly confused “respectful and humble”, because we will feel that it is truly a grace, a miracle. Like My Tam, she knelt down many times to thank the audience with absolute sincerity. Because, she also sees the boundless love of the Divine residing in the love that the audience has for her, as well as her boundless love for the audience.

Once, an acquaintance told me that “My Tam’s fans are really fanatical”. I don’t agree with that view, because it’s just the outer shell. In the movie Timekeeper, I realized that My Tam does not try to turn the audience into her followers, nor does she try to make people admire her more, but she simply serves the good things that music brings to people. And so, My Tam is like a “missionary” of beauty and a positive lifestyle, shared by her kind and sincere behavior not only on stage but also in everyday life.

My Tam does not build fame, does not build a monument to herself, but only brings her most sincere and best feelings to share with everyone. My Tam shared: “Everyone’s youth has My Tam and My Tam’s youth has everyone.” When I heard My Tam speak, my emotions were still intact in my mind Student guitar, Girl from yesterday, Wish… Because my youth is also filled with her imprint.

My Tam calls the audience her “Tri Am”. If I had to condense a few words about my decades of journey, My Tam would only say: “The audience is relatives, the stage is home.” In the Tri Am show, the largest live show in Vietnam, My Tam confided: “As strangers, as strangers, why do you love me so much? You have followed me a long way, no matter where, no matter what time, you support my music and my path. The only thing this girl can do is never change! I will live to never be ashamed of my audience.”

My Tam is aware of her great influence on the audience, so she always tries to convey loving and compassionate behavior to the audience, and just like that, the seeds of comfort and goodwill are strongly spread among millions of My Tam’s fans. That is the true measure of a star’s class – cultural influence.

If you only want rewards and glory, those things will fade away like footprints in the sand. Only sincere love and kind things will stay forever in the hearts of the public, overcoming the ups and downs of time to always be a beautiful fire that comforts and guides us to a better life. My Tam has persevered on the path of “TRUE LOVE” so My Tam deserves her love and glory. Because, as My Tam said: “My Tam’s aura belongs to you (the audience), My Tam’s success is your success“.

Deep in my heart, I want to send My Tam thanks for having her in my youth. This article is a response to the sincere love that My Tam has for everyone, including me – her Tri Am.
